Summer 2014 Soccer Camps Registration Open!

We will hold two sessions for the World Cup 2014 Camps.  We anticipate that all spaces will fill up as they have the past many years.  See below for more information.

RYS World Cup 2014 Summer Camps  

Session 1: 5pm-8pm, Monday, June 23- Friday, June 27 (RCDS Turf Fields)..........open to students entering grades K-8  

Session 2: 5pm-8pm, Monday, August 18-Friday, August 22 (Rye Rec Field)...........open to students entering grades K-8  

Camp Directors / Head Coaches: Rich Savage (Rye HS Girls Varsity Coach, 2008 NY State Coach of the Year) and Jared Small (RYS Boys Varsity Coach, RYS Director of Soccer Programs)  

Additional Head Coaches: Nationally licensed coaches including RYS favorites Adriano Torriani, Michael Smith, Brian Robinson, Colin Moses, Sal Curella, Andrew Schuck, Craig Hutchinson, Erica Stewart, Kim Mooney and others; new guest coaches and former Rye players who now play at a variety of D-I and D-III colleges and universities; dozens of current and former Rye Varsity standouts who serve as assistant coaches for the week!    

Head Coach to Player Ratio: Approximately 1 Head Coach and 2 Assistants per 12 Campers.  

Highlights: Each night features two 40-minute instructional sessions (players are grouped according to age and gender), an exciting skills competition, and two World Cup matches (co-ed) leading to the quarterfinals, semifinals, and finals that take place on the last evening of camp.  All campers will receive a t-shirt, and there will be several nightly prizes and trophies awarded for sportsmanship and skills competitions!   To Register: Online at www.ryeyouthsoccer.org  

Price: $250 per week ($50 discount for each additional sibling per week)

5:00-5:15 : Warm-up activities

5:15-5:55 : Technical Session #1: Dribbling activities designed to promote comfort, ease and creativity with the ball... culminating in skill specific games

5:55-6:00 : Gatorade and snack break  

6:00-6:40 : Technical Session #2: Shooting activities designed to promote power and accuracy...culminating in skill specific games

6:40-6:45 : Gatorade and snack break

6:45-7:00 : Skills Competition Age Group Finals

7:00-7:50 : World Cup tournament games

7:50-8:00 : Nightly awards and prizes

Sample Day: 7th Grade Camper

5:00-5:15 : Warm-up activities

5:15-5:55 : Technical Session #1: Dribbling to Beat an Opponent, a session designed to develop players’ penetrating abilities with the ball at their feet

5:55-6:00 : Gatorade break

6:00-6:40 : Tactical Session #1: Combination Play, a session designed to promote acknowledgment and execution of wall passes, double passes, overlap runs, and dribble takeovers in match related conditions

6:40-6:45 : Gatorade break

6:45-7:00 : Skills Competition Age Group Finals

7:00-7:50 : World Cup tournament games

7:50-8:00 : Nightly awards and prizes
